Pulp Fiction Dance Scene

Why is it that this Pulp Fiction dance scene is so good? Its just an old Chuck Berry tune ‘You Never Can Tell‘ which on its own really isn’t that good. But I guess with the king of dance, John Travolta, treading the boards along with Uma Thurman a little bit of magic must have happened, that’s the only way I can explain it anyway.

They are not really doing anything spectacular either but for some reason it just works and the result was this really great Pulp Fiction dance scene. It’s been watched time and time again and even been recreated in Russian using a couple of look alikes from a Russian TV show. Nowhere near as good as the original though and I don’t understand Russian anyway.

Pulp fiction, for those that don’t know, is an iconic film from 1994 and the dance scene is the best remembered scene from the film. They were actually taking part in a twist competition in a 1950’s themed bar and I think they won it, but to be honest I can’t really remember or care. It was the dance scene itself that was the memorable part, not surprising really as Pulp Fiction was shot totally out of sequence and consequently was very difficult to follow, this was done deliberately of course and is one of the reasons it became iconic.
