Al Green- Lets Stay Together Live on Jonathon Ross

Posted on June 19, 2010

You know sometimes when you have just witnessed something a little bit special in music and last night, as I write this, I watched Al Green doing a live performance of his old hit ‘Lets Stay Together’ on the Jonathon Ross show.

I may have had a couple of glasses of wine, because by the time it came on it was around midnight here in France but even so, you know a bit of class when you see it. Al was in pretty eminent company as well, he had Jools and Christopher Holland (Christopher Holland is Jools Holland’s brother) on keys and David Gilmour from Pink Floyd on guitar.

So put together one of the best vocalists you will hear anywhere with some of the best musicians on the planet and you have got yourself a recipe for a great tune and that is exactly what it was; pure magic. This one is going to have some legs me thinks.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and by the way it was just as good this morning as it was last night, so it wasn’t alcohol influenced.
